About Me
![]() About the Photographer...Hello, my name's Guy. Welcome to my photographic website! I have always had a keen interest in photography, but it wasn't until the advent of digital SLR cameras that I decided to take it more seriously and turn pro - and I haven't looked back! Throughout the 'noughties' I worked at the National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE) in Surrey working as a manager in a unit for teenage students with special needs. I used my photography skills to document their progress and cover student events with impressive results. Then in 2008, I decided to take the plunge and move to London to begin to build up my photographic business. Over the last four years, I've been steadily building up my client base with many of my commissions coming from word of mouth recommendations - the best (and cheapest) form of marketing! Also the most meaningful accolade and feedback that a photographer can have... As an outside interest and to see me through the quieter spells I do background work on films and TV. For a bit of fun and a point of interest, here are a few images of me on some of the productions I have taken part in:
'The King's Speech' - BBC Technician
'Eastenders' - CID Interviewing Dot
'Sweeney Todd' - Pie Eating Customer
'Emma' - Footman So have a look through my galleries and if you like what you see and would like to use my wedding photography in London services, then please ring me for a chat, email me or simply fill out the form on the 'Contact' page... Tel No: 07947 613070 Email: guymilnes@gmail.com Finally a little technical stuff: I use some of the best equipment on the market today. The main camera I use as a is a Nikon D700 which I chose mainly for its ability to shoot in low light situations without need for a flash or other lighting. This is great for photographers covering wedding receptions and other evening events. I also use four lenses. My 'workhorse' is the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 with vibration reduction II technology. This again helps reportage photographers shoot in low light. Next is my Nikon 50mm f/1.4 prime lens - a must for any wedding photographer as it gives great bokeh (technical term for a blurry background) and a narrow depth of field. For those all important wedding details I use my 105mm macro enabling me to get in very close. Finally there's my Nikon 16-35mm f/4 wide angle which I use more for that all important scene-setting photography such as the congregation at the church and the tables at the reception. It also gives a certain dynamism to shots as it allows me to get closer into the action. Please do look through my site. It will be updated regularly with new content. I hope you choose 'Guy Milnes Photography' when looking for a London Family Photographer or Wedding Photographer from London...
